the sweetest summer
The house was dark and quiet with just one lamp lit and the sound of the fan and the cars outside, and I was a little frightened reading a scary part of Harry Potter.

We think alike, Lindsey.
Our air conditioner broke and I’m loving it!
Uncle Ed has been good about not putting it on until he can’t stand it any more because he knows how much I hate it, but yesterday when he finally decided to turn it on it wouldn’t go on. So naturally he’s hotter than ever now. But me? I just love sultry summer days like this. Whenever Ed says, “Ug! It’s so frickin hot!”, I say, “Ahhh..It’s so warm and sultry”. It always reminds me of living out on the farm with Gramma. I miss those new mother days, barefoot and pregnant, sipping rootbeer floats in tin cups on the screen porch with Gramma while I soaked my swollen feet in one pan of cold water and Christopher played with his toy boats in another. Ahhh…The good ole summertime….

We could enjoy such leisures a month ago, but June means air-conditioning in East Texas… to do otherwise is to court catastrophe, especially with a house full of babies.
