fireplaces.
My husband and I are always in search of new cozy places. In the cold weather, we like to escape from our fireplaceless apartment to curl up by different public fireplaces around town. Here’s a list of the places we’ve found so far. If you know of a cozy public fireplace in the Madison area, pleace drop me a comment or an e-mail and I’ll add it to the list!
Ancora Coffee
112 King Street, Madison, WI
Not only do they have a fireplace, but they also have great coffee made by great people who know their stuff. And as an added bonus? I work there.
Cafe Zuzu
1336 Drake Street Madison, WI
I haven’t had much of their coffee, but they make great sandwiches, tapas, and bread pudding. It’s a fun place, and also very kid -riendly.
Starbucks
2825 University Ave, Madison, WI
I am not a huge Starbucks fan, but this place has a nice fireplace with some very comfy seats around it. And I definately am a fan of comfy seats.

I LOVE fireplaces. I’ve gotten very attached to faux log burners from the 60/70s. We use a wood stove for heat here in southern Oregon (and could not begin to suggest to you places near you) Our woodstove however, does not have a view into the fire since it’s got cast iron doors. So, for each room I’m collecting mantles and faux burners complete with the crackle feature of a wire with bristles rotating around to recreate the sound. Cheesy- you bet but I love them so much.
Love your site!
